The three R’s of resume writing are Research, Research, Research. Before submitting your resume, you must know what the prospective company does, what the position involves, and whether you will be a fit. And that means doing research about the company, about the position, and about the type of employee that company typically hires. Research the Company Read whatever literature the company has placed in the career library. For more information, try the internet resume writing companiesor, even more directly, call the company. Ask for any literature it may have, find out how the company is structured, and ask what qualities the company generally looks for in its employees. Ask if there are openings in your area, and find out the name of the department head and give him or her a call. Explain that you are trying to decide whether to apply to the company, and ask for their recommendation for next steps. Thank the person for the information, and ask to whom your resume should be directed. Research the Position The more information you know about the position, the better able you will be to sell yourself and to target the resume to that position. If possible, interview someone who does that same job. In addition to finding out the duties, ask if there is on-the-job training, whether they value education over experience (or vice versa), and what kind of turnover the department experiences. Ask what they like about the position and the company; more important, ask what they don’t like about it.
Resumes Resume Content: Making the Most of Your Experience Ideally, the information on your resume should demonstrate Your Experience that 1) you are qualified for a particular position, and 2) that you would be an asset to the organization. If you’re unclear about what type of position you actually desire, or if you’re applying for a number of jobs in different fields, design a more general resume. A general resume should show your professional skills and your accomplishments in related or diverse fields. As always, give the employer reason to believe that you’d learn quickly on the job and have some vested interest in pursuing this new career field or position. But, assuming that life is neither romantic comedy nor action novel, that Batman-like wonder will not always be there. Instead, we should focus on Vladek - the underdog best friend in the romantic comedy. The antihero, if you will, who is always there and always vying for our affection. He’s the guy we tend to pass over - quiet, shy, klumsy. But when we’re stuck in our edit my English own personal Holocaust, our Vladek is always there to make sure we’re surviving. My own Vladek is my best friend from home - Chris. He’s always there to talk me off a ledge, or edit my English papers, or tell me when my reasoning is cracked, and I need to calm the heck down. What is a Resume? A resume is a summary of your qualifications, education, and experience. It is a marketing tool to present your relevant strengths and skills to a potential employer. It must be concise, clearly written, and well organized. We recommend that you tailor your resume to the specific jobs for which you are applying. This means you must select and include the experience that you feel is most relevant. When sending a paper version of your resume, always send it with a cover letter tailored to the specific job for which you are applying. What is a Curriculum Vitae (CV)? A CV is a document used when applying for teaching, research, or administrative jobs in higher education. Like a resume, a cv writing describes your experience, but there are key differences.
Proofreading for Errors. I cannot count the number of times I’ve turned in a paper, only to discover when it came back that I had made some ridiculous error. For instance, I once began a sentence, “This not is not,” which made no more sense in the paper than it does here. I felt somewhat embarrassed. My papers should represent my best work, but here I was, making careless mistakes and showing my professors that I didn’t care very much about the assignment. The points I lost for failing to catch these errors are points I could easily have kept if I had simply proofread. That is why I recommend proofreading services. Let Your Paper Sit for a Day.I know that procrastination, or the crush of other commitments, can cause you to write a paper the night before it is due. Good proofreading depends on your ability to detach yourself from what you have written, and the key to doing this is to allow a day or more to elapse between finishing a draft and revising it.

How to Write a Description. Because a description is a text that creates an image in the mind of the reader, it should give information to the reader in the same way that the reader would get the information directly. If a person were actually observing the same thing as the writer describes, how would she take in the information? Let’s suppose that you are trying to describe a scene. What would the person do to get the image of the scene into her imagination if she were actually there? She see things; she would hear things, smell things, feel things. She would take these things in either in some kind of sequence or simultaneously in your descriptive essay. Her observation of the scene would create a mood in her mind, and the mood would then become the tone of the image for her and that tone would highlight certain parts of the scene and diminish others. The writer becomes the observer in place of the reader. You become the reader’s eyes, ears, nose, and body. So the first thing to do is to collect this kind of information. What do you see, hear, feel, smell? Write down specific observations. What shape are the various things you see? What colors? Where are they in relationship to each other? What do you smell? What is the scent like? What do you feel? Make the details as specific and concrete as possible. Related to being the reader’s body is the notion that you supply a “point of view” for the reader. Where are you as you describe the scene? Let the reader know.
